Have not posted for long time.. guess my last post was 2-3wks ago... kind of forgetten about the need to blog. perhaps too much stuff being going on. last few changes to IE, handing in of other units assignment... @@...
so anyway, last week before the uni ends and the last semester for us!! hopefully.. lol... so the plan for this week is.. last testing on system, meeting with client to sign off.. and prepare for school presentation!!! OMG!! but me and my other group mates, or rather the rest of the people should be stress!! cause the exam and the presentation is so near!!! argh!!!!!!
anyway... thats all... nothing to say for the the 2nd last blog!! just waiting for IE to finish...

No Complacency!!!
Complacency almost killed me!! as this morning was going to post my blog until my notebook suddenly went down, and cant be powered on after that.
the worse thing was that i did not back up my work!! faint X 100000000000000. had always told myself and my friends to back up their work, but complacency creep in and i had not been backing up my work for quite some time, and 2 of the major sub system are on my hand!! OMG!!
anyway, rushed down to my notebook service center, and along the way was praying very hard to god to at least allow me to retrieve my work from my hard disk. and at last i reached the center, and amazingly, it was able to boot up!! it was as if it was either being recovered by the magic hand of the servicing personal or that my notebook recovered as soon as i entered the center(something like illness being cured upon seeing the doctor!!). all seems so weired and i got a very suspecting look from the servicing personal, as if i was playing a prank on him. anyway, after he told me he was able to power on my notebook, i quickly testing it myself, restarting and shut down and reboot, just everything i could think to make sure my notebook dont crush on me again!!
and so everything is ok.. phew... im just so glad god replied to my desperate call!!! and it just teaches me one lesson, never be complacence!! and yup, if you are guessing whether im backing up my work, you can bet on it as im backing my work everywhere now, thumbdrive, online storage and my group's yahoo group!!

lol... just lost track on the week number, i just know i have to just give best i can for this last few weeks of my degree...
anyway, last week had our client meeting, we had our last review of our work before we show it to our client. the design especially for a great worry for all of us, as we know that our client can be quite picky even though we are not web site designers!!!! anyway here comes the meeting.
the whole meeting went about telling them what we have done, and... here come the thing, they said they just realised they needed extra fields one of the sub system!! OMG, so here we go.. going to change our database. but besides that everything was smooth and so smooth i was quite amazed, stuff such as the feel of the web site, they agreed to it straight away, too good to be true i think. but lol.. i told my group mate in a jokingly manner, on monday, we will receive one email 4 pages long of email.. lol.. as what i feel that our client likes to do.. lol..
so anyway we had a gd laugh at what i had said, but during the meeting, i was quite embrassed because im using the msn during the meeting, not to chat with my friends though, but to send message across my group member the info that they might have missed out and stuff, and everything was ok until my notebook was used to show our client the work that we had done, and guess what!! i realised i did not off close the msn, and, yea, i guess our client saw it... i think it was quite embrassing and i would feel offended if i was them my client to see someone using msn, but im innocent!! i was doing the real stuff and not playing around, anyway, yea thats it.. the embrassing moment of me during the meeting...
ok, time to end my post, late for the submission of last week blog, but i hoped this is ok..

WK 8
been out of sort last wk.. not sure why... but.. yea... anyway.. last wk, got a super duper long email from our client... 4 pages in total.. and i was like, wah! so many page... what the.. then realise the whole email was commenting about our design and stuff...
and i was quite shockk.. as i thought we had told them that the images was not finalise as we had not gotten any imnages from them. and i came to realise that these issues we should have gotten the client to decide and we implement since we are not much of a designer kind of people and we would not had wasted time on designing..
and this is another lesson for me as i had always thought that the funtionality is the most important part and that the design was not that important as long as the usability is there... and i was very, very wrong...
so now, i guess we need to correct the designs and stuff with the client and continue with out development also.. schdule is really tight now.. hopefully will be able to complete...

Week 5
hmm... how do i start... since last week our group or rather me and the other developer have decided that the programming part of this project will be done by me and the other developer, as we felt that the lead developer is kind of packed with his studies due to the fact that he is overloading in this semester taking 5 subjects. therefore we felt that in order for the whole project to go on smoothly, we thought maybe we can take over the main part of the development while the other developer can in charge of the minor subsystems that we had. so as to ensure he does not need to spend too much time on IE, and instead spread it across evenly.
well thats the major part of last week.. and nothing else thus far....

wk4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey hey now is already week 4!! going to week 5!! my god... 3 more wks and we are suppose to finish our coding... hmm... but the development looks abit slow and might overrun to our mid term holiday... but dont think there is a need to press the panic button, as yet. still need to see if we can finish our 3 major areas, the booking system, gift voucher and CMS, which we decided to do it ourselves as most of the CMS we found were either not up to what we wanted or look weird, therefore we decided to D.I.Y. luckily im not the one doing the CMS!! Phew... lol..
anyway yeah, have to see if we can finish those by this two weeks, and for the rest should be smooth sailing, hopefully... so thats all for this week, awaiting for week 5, to come slowly... lol..

Wk3
wk 3, cant believe im blogging for week 3!! 10 more weeks to go!! omg!! time flies!! anyway... nothing much happens this week, as we are still going on with our development, 3 more weeks left before our expected finished date... hopefully we can get it done and move on with our testing...
